Follow the paths of Seminole Chief Osceola and other native Americans of the 1800's in the Port of Tampa's Channelside District, Florida's most active seaport.  Stop at the Historic 1912 Tampa Union Railroad Station, the 1850 Oaklawn Cemetery and the nearby Historic Central Avenue District where newly-freed slaves settled in 1865.  Ride past historic cigar factories and social clubs for Cubans, Spaniards, Italians, German-Americans and Afro-Cubans on Ybor City's 7th Avenue as Col. Teddy Roosevelt and the Roughriders did in 1898.  Stand in the lobby of Henry Bradley Plant's jewel, the Historic 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel, visited by John Philip Sousa, Booker T. Travel down the Port of Tampa's Channelside Drive in the old Garrison area, where Seminole Chief Osceola and other Native Americans fished and lived in the 1800's.  Stop at the Historic 1912 Tampa Union Railroad Station inspired by transportation magnate Henry Bradley Plant and see the nearby Jackson House.  This is where Ella Fitzgerald, Cab Calloway, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other notables visited.  Walk through the 1850 Oaklawn Cemetery where natives who lived here 2000 years ago are buried along with notable Tampa's founders, area slaves and cigar baron Vincente Martinez Ybor.  See the Historic Central Avenue Business and Entertainment District where a young Ray Charles made his first recording and where "The Twist" dance craze began.  Stand in the lobby of the 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel as did Clara Barton, Sara Burnhardt, Col. Teddy Roosevelt and his Roughrider Officers. Drive down the historic 1891 Bayshore Beautiful and view its hundreds of mansions along the glistening Old Hillsborough Bay and see the spot where in 1914 the country's first commercial airplane landed.  See the Historic West Tampa factory spot where plans for the 1895 invasion of Cuba were smuggled out of Tampa rolled inside a cigar.  Spend an hour of free time for lunch, shopping, or browsing Ybor City where dozens of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues line the seven-block 1886 area historic district.  THREE RESTROOM STOPS at Univ of Tampa, Union Station and Ybor City
